I WANT TO KNOW MORE
Pink can be described as a light, unsaturated red color. The emotional values of pink can therefore be considered active, positive, superficial experiences such as light joy, elevated mood, a sense of carefree living, etc. Perhaps it is because of these values of pink that the saying "to see the world through rose-colored glasses" emerged.
Pink has a fascinating history of shifting gender associations, and the perception of its impact has evolved over time. Initially, pink was considered a suitable color for boys up until the 1950s, while blue was associated with girls. The change in gender associations could be linked to women asserting themselves in the late 1940s as a response to the consequences of World War II, encouraging women to adopt a more energising color.
The research by Alexander Schauss found that staring at a particular shade of pink could lower the heart rate, pulse, and respiration, making it a soothing color. As a result, pink was used to paint prison cells, leading to reduced incidents of hostile behaviour in inmates.
